“Our customers grow and we grow with them” – this is the motto under which PVS is gearing up for the future at its two locations in Waghäusel and Schwarzach. A visible sign of the expansion in Waghäusel is a picking tower that was put into operation after only nine months of construction. Since summer 2020, 320,000 items from the drugstore and toy segment have been picked here on 3,200 square metres – state-of-the-art conveyor and sorting technology ensures an efficient process. And business is still booming.
“In the meantime, the building is almost occupied due to the strong growth of our regular customers,” says Mathias Krauß, Site Manager of PVS eCommerce-Services GmbH. “A second tower for new customers is already in the planning stage, with a ground-breaking ceremony scheduled for early 2022.”
In Schwarzach, too, the signs are pointing to expansion. Here, PVS has taken over the former René Lezard building and created a logistics centre of impressive size and storage capacity: On 21,000 square metres, around 1.5 million fashion articles and accessories are now managed from the PVS Fashion location in Hassfurt, 40 kilometres away.
At the same time, the property, which still has an undeveloped area of 26,000 square metres, has a lot of potential for long-term expansion: “With this location, we are ideally positioned for the years to come,” Christina Schenk, Managing Director of PVS Fashion-Service GmbH, is convinced. “And we can adapt the logistical capacities quite flexibly to our clients from the textile sector,” adds Kurt Korbmann, also Managing Director.
